Martha M. Wakefield, CPA, MAcc ~ PrincipalMartha began her career with Deloitte and Touche and has almost 20 years of finance and operations experience. She’s held both Controllership and CFO positions with companies in a variety of industries, including telecom, retail, manufacturing and real estate. She enjoys the business planning and strategic development aspects of growing businesses, and exhibited her talents in these areas when she served as the Director of Corporate Planning and Analysis for a start-up telecom business that grew to over a billion dollars in revenue in just three years.
Martha realized that what set her apart from others in her field was her ability to bring the different areas of a business together. She has seen that in order for the finance function to be effective, it cannot operate in a vacuum. Every area of a business, from sales and operations and finance to office management, must march to the same beat with the same end goals. She enjoys the challenge of making that happen. Always with a primary focus on increasing shareholder value, Martha plays an instrumental role with Legacy clients, developing business plans, long range projections and business valuations.
She received a Master of Accounting Degree from Florida State University and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Troy University. In addition, Martha too is a CPA.
Her competitive spirit and Florida State University pedigree make it no surprise that she is an avid college football fan. It’s also true that she would prefer a cookout with family and friends to a five-star meal. Like her Co-Founder, her motivation is the legacy that she and Steve will leave for their favorite two people in the world, their children, Jackson and Reagan.
